Operate Nistor

Run a Nistor installation on Google Cloud day to day — access, backups, alerts, sizing, scaling, hardening and optional extras.

These pages are for the people who run a Nistor installation built from the reference root deployments/gcp (see Install on GCP). Each page names the Terraform inputs it relies on, so that you can find them in your copy of the root.

Page What it covers
Identity and access Signing in through Identity-Aware Proxy, the first administrator, permissions in Nistor, service accounts
Backup and restore What the root backs up, and how to restore the database
Monitoring and alerts The 16 alert policies, how to turn them on, and what to do when one fires
Sizing The inputs that set the size of each service and of the database
Scaling How the services scale, and the quotas to check
Security hardening Service accounts, secrets, network and the settings to tighten in production
Optional extras Adding the MicroStrategy SDK, which the public image does not ship
